Amazon web services is a leading cloud computing platform which provides services like storage and management of databases, providing security and other functionalities to small as well as big organizations. It was launched in 2006 by Amazon. In over a decade it has developed itself as the best cloud computing platform beating the likes of Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
AWS offers its services on a pay-as-you-go basis which means that a customer is only liable to pay for the resources or services he/she has opted for. Pricing is based on the period of time a particular service is used, this eliminates the need for long term contracts and license formalities. Hence giving consumers the advantage in doing business.
AWS also offers free trials on its different services. Mainly there are 3 types of free offers, which are listed as follows
1) Always free
Services which always remain free for use to all AWS customers.
2) 12 month free
These free services can be used throughout the year but afterwards, they require a fee payment.
3) Trials
Free trials are provided for a short period of time in order to give user, an experience of the software before they want to buy that service.
AWS is categorized in IaaS type cloud computing. It has been a market leader in this technology. Many popular businesses like Netflix, Airbnb, GE and many more run on AWS server and use its services.
It has been claimed that AWS is a market leader due to various reasons. Some of them are -
Heavily examined platform providing numerous services.
AWS was initially developed as a beta version in order to handle operations of Amazon. It was launched for public use much later. Hence this platform underwent rigorous testing and updates which made sure there are no faults or errors in the platform
